“A Chinese on Christmas Eve at the Hospice meant so much to us”
When Jean was diagnosed with cancer 12 months before she sadly passed away, the Hospice stepped in for her final weeks, giving the family precious memories, care and support.
“Eve’s care could not have been handled better.”
When Eve was nearing the end of her life, her husband, Colin, didn’t know how he was going to cope alone. With no close family around them, all he wanted was for Eve to be comfortable, cared for, and treated with dignity. With support from Dr Kershaw’s Hospice, that’s exactly what happened — with the couple receiving comfort and compassion when it was needed most.

Laura is supporting Rose to Remember by dedicating a rose in memory of her stepdad, Wade, after the Hospice gave her, her daughter Pippa, and their family precious time and lasting memories together.
“Mum was able to die on her own terms, on her own turf”
When Janet was diagnosed with oesophageal cancer with no further treatment options, her family knew her wish was to remain at home, surrounded by everything she loved. With support from Dr Kershaw’s, they were able to honour that wish — ensuring she was comfortable, cared for, and never alone in her final days.

When David was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, his family knew they wanted him at home, surrounded by love. With support from Dr Kershaw’s, they were able to be a family again — right until the very end.
A final Father’s Day to treasure
Sue McEwan's dad, Brian Swann was cared for in our Inpatient Unit for 22 days before he sadly died. The outstanding care he received and the precious memories made will stay with Sue and her family forever.
