We warmly invite you to be part of Dr Kershaw’s Light Up a Life, a special opportunity to dedicate a light on our beautiful Hospice tree in memory of your loved one. Each year, this poignant event brings our community together to reflect, remember, and celebrate the lives of those we hold close, while helping to support the care we provide for our patients and their families.

Your Dedication

Your dedication will shine as a light on our Hospice tree, symbolising the love and memories shared.

Your loved one(s) name will:

• Appear on-screen at our Hospice Reception during the service
• Be included in our Book of Remembrance, available both at the service and on our website

You will also receive a personalised postcard with your loved one’s name, along with a cut-out star for you to personalise and display in a special place- including the option to hang it on one of our Hospice trees.

This year, all dedications are £5 each, with the option of making an additional donation if you wish.

To ensure your loved one is included in the Book of Remembrance and on-screen, please make your dedication by Monday 1st December.

Light up a Life service

We would be honoured to welcome you to our Light Up a Life service on Sunday 7th December, 5pm (gates open 4pm) at Dr Kershaw’s Hospice.

This moving, multi-faith service will include:

• Heartfelt readings and performances
• The switching on of the Hospice tree lights, each one shining in memory of someone special
• Refreshments, available before and after the 30-minute service
• Baubles, badges, and Hospice merchandise for sale (subject to availability)

If you are unable to join us in person, footage and photographs from the service will be shared on our Facebook and YouTube pages after the event.

We hope you will join us this year as we light up our tree, and our hearts, in memory of those we love.

2025 Light Up a Life baubles

Our new 2025 Light Up a Life baubles are available to order from our Hospice reception and will be launched online very soon. They will also be available to purchase on the night, while stocks last. Contact fundraising@drkh.org.uk to find out more.
