Ascot Ladies’ Day

Join us for a fabulous day of fashion, racing, and fundraising at our annual Ascot Ladies’ Day charity event in support of hospice care.

Elegance was in full bloom as Ascot Ladies’ Day returned to The White Hart Inn in Lydgate on Thursday 18 June for a stylish afternoon of racing festivities.

The day kicked off with a glass of Buck’s fizz or Pimm’s before guests enjoyed a delicious three-course meal. Live racing from Royal Ascot was streamed throughout the afternoon, followed by a traditional afternoon tea. Guests also enjoyed a ‘best hat’ competition, raffle, auction, and professional photography.

Best of all, the event raised a fabulous £7,608, enabling our Hospice to continue to support patients and their families across Oldham and beyond.

Joanne Penketh, Income Development Manager at Dr Kershaw’s Hospice, said: “It is always such a fun afternoon, and the perfect excuse to get your friends, colleagues and loved ones together. Best of all, it makes a real difference for patients and their families.

“A heartfelt thank you everyone who joined us. Your presence, elegance and generosity made the day truly unforgettable. The funds raised will enable us to continue providing specialised compassionate care and support to those in our community when they need it the most.”

This year marked the 20th anniversary of organiser Gill Bussey’s take on Ascot Ladies’ Day in aid of our Hospice. The renowned fundraiser is a long-term supporter, having previously served as a judge for our Strictly dance competition.
