Our beloved Hartley mascot teamed up with Oldham Athletic AFC’s Chaddy the Owl for a hero-themed adventure.
Hartley’s Hero Walk with Oldham Athletic AFC
On Friday 27th February, 149 incredible heroes (plus their grown-ups) pulled on their capes and masks and took part in Hartley’s Hero Walk at Boundary Park – raising an amazing £13,651.03 for Dr Kershaw’s Hospice and Oldham Athletic Community Trust!
A huge thank you to everyone who laced up their boots, donned their capes, and joined us for our Hero Walk. The atmosphere was incredible, and it was truly inspiring to see so many of you coming together to support patient care — you are all real-life heroes!
We’d also like to give a special thank you to OACT for their fantastic support in helping make the event such a success.
If you haven’t already handed in your sponsorship money, there’s still time to complete your mission! You can submit your funds via our online donation page or drop off your sponsor form and money to our Fundraising Team at the Hospice directly. Every pound raised makes a real difference.
This was our first fundraising event of 2026, and what a way to start the year!
Heroes… get ready. We’re hoping to return with Hartley’s Hero Walk in 2027!
A very special shoutout to our superhero, Ethan!
Ethan Beveridge went above and beyond for Hartley’s Hero Walk, raising an incredible £620 – the highest of all our amazing heroes!
As a thank you, Ethan and his family were invited back to Boundary Park , where he was presented with a squad signed Oldham Athletic shirt on the pitch before kick-off – just before Oldham’s 1–0 win over Grimsby!
