Dr Kershaw’s brings our very own version of Strictly Come Dancing to Oldham with each dance couple performing to raise vital funds.

A Night in the Musicals themed Dr Kershaw’s Strictly Event raises over £65,000 for patient care at the Hospice!
Dr Kershaw’s fabulous fundraisers had been training for many weeks to perfect their dance moves in a bid to be crowned the Dr Kershaw’s Strictly 2025 Winners and to be presented with the coveted glitterball trophy. Each dance couple took to the dance floor to showcase their moves in front of an audience of almost 500, whilst also raising an incredible amount of money for the Hospice.
Following the theme of ‘A Night in the Musicals’, the dancers performed beautifully with a selection of show stoppers from Mamma Mia, The Rocky Horror Show and Saturday Night Fever. The night kicked off with a bang as the dance competitors performed a group dance to Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.
The audience were also treated to a welcome drink on arrival, a three-course meal and live entertainment including performances from Jayne Barnes School of Dance and from West End singer, Melanie Marshall. Ian Taylor, local entrepreneur and author was the perfect host and brought real fun and sparkle to the event alongside a celebrity judging panel that included actors Shobna Gulati and Scott Wright, dance expert Anna Kirkpatrick and A-list makeup artist Armand Beasley. The standard was very high and the guest judges had their work cut out, but Jack Warburton and Katie Gough wowed the packed crowd and the judges with a jive from the Blues Brothers and took home the coveted glitterball trophy, presented to them by last year’s winners, Max and Leanne! The runner-up couple was sales assistant Amanda Cunningham and Oldham Athletic legend Frank Rothwell, who performed a gag-laden Salsa mashup from Jersey Boys.
Raising over £65,000 and counting to support patient care at the Hospice, the event proved to be a great success. Dr Kershaw’s team of ten dancers were set a collective fundraising target of £10,000 and with further funds still to be added, the talented team are currently topping over £11,600. Along with ticket sales, an auction and a raffle on the night also brought in much-needed funds for the Hospice.

The whole experience was absolutely amazing! It was so much fun to meet so many amazing people all taking part for the same cause. I’ve never been so nervous, but getting out in front of everyone and just having the time of our lives dancing was the most incredible feeling. It was never about winning, but it was an honour for Jack and I to be crowned the winners.
