An evening with Mike Coulter, cycling across
America for compassionate care
Local fundraiser and adventurer Mike Coulter will share the story of his epic self supported cycle ride across America — all to raise funds for Dr Kershaw’s Hospice.
In Summer 2025, Mike took on the Trans America Challenge, cycling 3,400 miles from Portland to Washington DC. Along the way, he crossed the Rockies, battled extreme weather, and experienced the kindness of strangers — all in memory of his mother and to support hospice care for others in need.
Our sold-out event will feature:

🎶 Live performance from Soul Provider – a fantastic 10-piece band bringing classic soul and Motown tunes

Well I did it – I only went and cycled across a continent! I’m still feeling slightly emotional and overwhelmed by the whole experience. I haven’t yet decided whether to plan another challenge or put a garage full of bikes on Ebay!

An Evening with Mike Coulter is an event that raises funds for Dr Kershaw’s Hospice. Dr Kershaw’s Hospice is a charity (Charity Number 1105924) whose registered office is at Dr Kershaw’s Hospice, Turf Lane, Royton, Oldham, OL2 6EU (“Dr Kershaw’s”).

The following are Dr Kershaw’s conditions of sale for those who buy a ticket to An Evening with Mike Coulter:
- If for any reason you are no longer able to attend An Evening with Mike Coulter, your ticket/s will not be refunded. Non-attendance will be taken as a donation to the Hospice OR you are welcome to transfer your ticket to another person, on the provision that they provide us with the necessary contact details.
- If cancellation occurs due to unusual and unforeseeable circumstances beyond our control, such as a national emergency, natural disaster, fire, bad weather, or other such events (acts of force majeure), then we will advise you as soon as it is reasonable to do so.
