A comprehensive, theoretical and practical exploration of the responsibility involved, and skills required by trained nurses to verify or confirm death.
Who is This Course for?
Trained nurses caring for palliative patients reaching the end of their lives.
What Will the Course Cover?
- The expectation and requirements needed to enable a nurse to verify death
- Patient identification
- The anatomical and physiological signs to be assessed to confirm death
- The management of invasive devices
- Communication
- Documentation
- Bereavement support awareness
Pre-Course Requirements
Some experience of caring for palliative patients or patients at the end of life is beneficial but not essential.
