Venepuncture & IV Cannula Insertion & Care

Course Details

A practical course guided by evidence-based practice and underpinning theory, providing the necessary skills to obtain blood samples and insert IV cannulae. Practical skills will be achieved by the demonstration and practise of venepuncture and cannulation using our state-of-the-art, skills simulation mannequin to instil confidence in personal ability within the safety of the classroom.

Trained nurses looking to extend their skillset or update their existing knowledge and skills.

Pre-Course Requirements

Some knowledge of blood sampling / cannulation is desirable but not essential.

How Will the Course be Taught?

Face-to-face delivery in a group, involving some group work or work in pairs, utilising our state-of-the-art simulation mannequin to demonstrate and practise clinical skills.
