Course Details

A comprehensive and interactive training session which explores the causes of pressure ulcers, risk assessment and strategies within patient care to prevent and manage pressure ulcers whilst promoting patient comfort.

Who is This Course for?

All nurses, health care assistants and student nurses.

  • Anatomy & physiology of the skin and pressure ulcer formation
  • Strategies to prevent pressure ulcer formation or deterioration
  • Classification of pressure ulcers and moisture lesions
  • Patient positioning
  • Skin care
  • Pressure-relieving aids

None.

How Will the Course be Taught?

Face-to-face delivery in a group, involving some group work or work in pairs, utilising our state-of-the-art simulation mannequin to demonstrate and practise clinical skills.
