Palliative Care Emergency Training: Neutropenic Sepsis

Course Details

A comprehensive and interactive session which explores the signs of sepsis, the clinical presentation and the necessary considerations and interventions that need to occur.

Theoretical knowledge is discussed in a participatory manner to focus on embedding best practice. Clinical skills will then be enhanced via clinical scenario simulation utilising our state-of-the-art skills simulation mannequin to instil confidence in personal ability within the safety of the classroom.

  • Anatomy and physiology in relation to the processes of sepsis
  • Infection prevention and control considerations
  • Recognition of sepsis and escalation of treatment
  • Medication and necessary interventions

None.

How Will the Course be Taught?

Face-to-face delivery in a group, involving some group work or work in pairs, utilising our state-of-the-art simulation mannequin to demonstrate and practise clinical skills.
