Course Details
This is a comprehensive, interactive and practical training session. Theoretical underpinning knowledge is delivered to provide rationale for the practical skills you will learn. You will be given the opportunity to practise on our state-of-the-art, skills simulation mannequin to instil confidence in personal ability within the safety of the classroom.
The course duration may be tailored if only one type of urinary catheterisation training is required or if you just require refresher training.

- Anatomy and physiology of the kidneys, urethra and bladder for both sexes
- The differences in catheter brands, styles and materials
- Insertion techniques
- Consideration of possible complications
- ANTT
- Ongoing catheter care

Trained nurses looking to refresh or enhance their knowledge and skills.
How Will the Course be Taught?
Face-to-face delivery in a group, involving some group work or work in pairs, utilising our state-of-the-art simulation mannequin to demonstrate and practise clinical skills.
