Course Details
An interactive and participatory course to provide the learner with the necessary skills to safely and competently administer injections. Theoretical knowledge will be instilled via presentations, discussions and scenario-based work.
Practical skills will be achieved by the demonstration and practise of injection administration using our state-of-the-art, skills simulation mannequin to instil confidence in personal ability within the safety of the classroom
Who is This Course for?
Doctors, trained nurses and senior health care assistants who are required to administer injectable medications as part of their job role.
What Will the Course Cover?
- The anatomy and physiology of the skin
- Needle selection
- Equipment required
- Injection site selection
- Intra-Muscular (IM) injections
- Sub-Cutaneous (S/C) Injections, Inclusive of SAF-T Siting
Pre-Course Requirements
A requirement to deliver medication via injection as part of your job role.
How Will the Course be Taught?
Face-to-face delivery in a group, involving some group work or work in pairs, utilising our state-of-the-art simulation mannequin to demonstrate and practise clinical skills.
