At Dr Kershaw’s Since: September 2019
Rebecca is responsible for the strategic leadership and management of Income Development and Marketing and Communications. Delivering a fundraising portfolio of corporate, community and individual giving, trusts and foundations grant giving, major donor and legacy giving, a retail and trading operation which incorporates e-commerce, a weekly lottery programme, and an annual calendar of events.
Combining fundraising with marketing and communications as one department enables the Hospice to: strengthen engagement with its supporters; breakdown the barriers and misunderstandings of what Hospice care is; support people living with life-limiting illnesses; and promote our extensive range of clinical services available for patients.
The NHS only fund one third of the Hospice’s £5.3million annual budget, and the Income Development Department is responsible for raising the remaining two thirds. Rebecca ensures that all fundraising practices are ethical and align with the Fundraising Regulator’s and Charity Commission’s codes of practices, and all data is protected under the Data Protection Act 2018, and under GDPR and PECR regulations.
