TV star hosts our glamorous Ascot Ladies’ Day

From showstopping hats to live musical performances, renowned fundraiser Gill Bussey pulled out all the stops for her 19th annual Ascot Ladies’ Day in aid of Dr Kershaw’s Hospice.

Our glamorous Ascot Ladies’ Day event on Thursday 19th June raised an incredible £8,700 to support patients and families across Oldham.

This money will help our Hospice to reach more people who need palliative and end-of-life care.

Held at The White Hart in Lydgate, the all-day event was hosted by the TV star Scott Wright. Actor and musician Scott has starred in Coronation Street, Emmerdale and Shameless and was also a judge at Dr Kershaw’s Strictly in February.

Guests were treated to live singing, along with a three-course meal, raffle and afternoon tea.

Joanne Penketh, Hospice Head of Lottery and Donor Stewardship at Dr Kershaw’s Hospice, said: “It was such a fantastic day, and it was truly heartwarming to see so much love for our Hospice.

“Events like these help us to spend time with our supporters and raise much-needed funds. Without this, our amazing team would not be able to support as many people in the Oldham community.

“We are so grateful to everyone who supported the event, whether it was by donating flower centrepieces or auction prizes, promoting it on social media, or joining us on the day.

“And of course, a huge thank you has to go to Gill on her 19th year of organising the event and our fabulous host, Scott!”
