Housekeepers from Willow Wood Hospice recently visited Dr Kershaw’s Hospice for a behind-the-scenes tour, gaining insight into how the Hospice delivers high standards of cleanliness and care.
The visit formed part of Willow Wood’s Housekeeping Team’s away day and offered a valuable opportunity to share best practice, ideas, and experiences between two local hospices.
Yvonne Kelley, Facilities Lead at Willow Wood Hospice, commented: “It was a real pleasure to visit Dr Kershaw’s Hospice as part of our team’s recent away day. The warm welcome, shared experiences, and chance to see how another hospice operates was both inspiring and insightful for our Housekeeping Team.”
During the tour, the Willow Wood staff were shown the essential work carried out daily by Dr Kershaw’s Housekeeping Team, who play a crucial role in infection control, patient comfort, and creating a positive environment for everyone who comes through our doors.
David Dawson, Health and Safety Facilities Manager at Dr Kershaw’s Hospice, said: “We were delighted to welcome the Willow Wood Team. Our Housekeeping staff underpin the fantastic work Dr Kershaw’s does for patients, visitors and staff. Without them, we simply couldn’t provide the services that we do.”
Both of our hospices highlighted the importance of continued collaboration, with hopes to build on the visit through future knowledge-sharing and joint initiatives that enhance care and comfort for all patients.
