Healthcare Assistant – Inpatient Unit / Hospice at Home

We are looking for Healthcare Assistants to join our team supporting patients and their families in our Inpatient Unit and in their own homes.
  • Do you have experience of working within Healthcare or Caring for others?
  • Have you worked alone or in a team within an IPU and home environment?
  • Can you work flexible hours – days/nights?
  • Do you drive/hold a full UK manual driving licence?
  • Provide a consistently high standard of palliative and end of life nursing care – keeping up the excellent reputation of the Hospice
  • Sensitively, care for patients and their families on the ward or in their homes, respecting the privacy and dignity of the patient and their families / loved ones at all times
  • Communicate well both verbally with your patient and their family / loved ones and also have the ability to document clear and concise notes

If you are a team player with a strong “can do” work ethic and ideally have worked previously within a care setting plus you can work flexibly across all hospice services and have a full UK driving licence – we are looking for you!

With short shifts or long days, regular breaks, free parking on site and a modern, state of the art Inpatient Unit, we provide a good work life balance to all our staff, including wellbeing activities and support.

The wellbeing of our staff is key at the Hospice and we provide, a food bank, subsidised meals, counsellor and complementary therapy as well as hold regular Nurse Forums and team social activities, across the Hospice. If applicants are NHS staff you may be able to continue to contribute to your NHS pension, alternatively Dr Kershaw’s Pension is offered.

 We are expanding our HCA team and have both day and evening shifts available with full and part-time positions considered. Day shift hours include evenings, weekends and bank holidays.

Salary: Starting salary £24,169 (plus awaiting cost of living award 25/26 to be applied) per annum (pro rata)
